ECS's first AMD based CrossFire motherboard is built around AMD's Socket 939 and utilizes ATI's RD480 Northbridge and SB450 Southbridge combination. ECS keeps the noise down with just one fan which is located in a small duct keeping the MOSFETS cool and this gives uninterrupted performance. One apparent drawback of the board is that its Northbridge is very close to the CPU socket, and the positioning of the SATA drives could have been changed too.
However ECS's latest offering is decent enough and includes features like Dual LAN, one of which is Gigabit Ethernet, integrated 7.1 audio, support for four ATA devices, four SATA ports, two SATA II 3Gb/s ports which are controlled by a Silicon Image chip, four DDR1 memory slots, two x16 PCI-E slots, two x1 PCI-E slots and two ordinary PCI slots. Another welcomed feature is the second BIOS chip in the box which comes to the rescue if the original gets corrupted.
When talking about the BIOS options , there's the manual and dynamic ones. With the dynamic mode one can select between 2MHz and 30MHz in 2MHz steps where in the Manual Mode the FSB can be adjusted up to 500MHz.
