CPU-zilla's latest offering the ExcelStor GStor Plus hard disk is not just another storage device but is extremely feature rich also.These features are offered by he firmware of the drive which has built in capabilities to configure multi-boot partitions, set hardware security encryption and even create a roll-back restore feature. The hard drive itself is built to withstand threats like a virus attack and protect sensitive data. The firmware also allows one to configure the drive with multiple boot partitions thus no more worrying about your boot loader being corrupted or spending hours modifying on it .
The ExcelStor GStor Plus hard disk also has a feature called Live Disk Mode where all the modifications done to file will be kept in the Virtual Storage partition and the Master Storage partition will remain protected. Then there is the RAM Mode which is the most secure of the lot because the changes done on a system won't be saved on reboot. The drive also comes with a hardware encryption engine and with the Last Recovery Attempt Mode, the administrator can unlock the hard disk drive. Overall, the ExcelStor GStor Plus hard disk is a good little performer which can further be improved and would be great with the new SATA interface as IDE.
Currently, there are three models of GStor Plus hard disk drives – GP1080-E231, GP1080-E232 and GSM1080. The first two models are 80GB 7,200rpm drives for desktop, while the GSM1080 is a 80GB GStor Secure mobile storage hard drive.
