Gateway launches the E-Series Professional Desktops, The that incorporates an ATI Chipset with an Intel Processor thus resulting in greater image stability and better functionality. Both E-2600 and E-1500 run on ATI's Stable and Unified Platform Program (SUPP) and users can opt for either Intel Pentium 4 or Celeron D processors in both the cases. The E-2600 configuration includes a Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 533MHz or 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM, a PCI Express x16 slot and a wide choice of SATA hard drive sizes. It also includes Intrusion detection, BTX technology and remote system monitoring. It is going to be available for shipping very soon and carries a price tag of about $749.
The second desktop is; the E-1500 which integrates ATI(TM) Radeon(R) Xpress 200 chipset with Adeon X300(R) based graphics and has a fast PCI Express x16 slot. Gateway has included 512MB of RAM keeping in mind the Microsoft's Windows Vista. Perfect for small enterprises and home consumers, it also includes a PCI Express x16 slot and a wide choice of ATA hard drive sizes. Other standard configuration include 10/100 Ethernet LAN connectivity and 533MHz DDR2 memory. It got released on March 2 and carries a price of US $599.00.
