There are times when we all can just marvel at technology and have a sci fi movie moment. I am pretty sure the folks at the HAL plant in 1992 shared a similar experience when they first laid their eyes on the Hal 9000 USB Memory Unit. With a 1GB whopping memory capacity this baby sure would have stood unrivaled at its time if not for certain complications. But isn't that life?
Now the compact memory stick is back in business and offers features like compatibility with USB 1.1 and 2.0 and Windows, Mac OS and Linux. The Hal 9000 has a read speed of 26MB/sec and a write speed of 20MB/sec and sports a Dual Channel Flash Memory Architecture. Not sure if it's all smooth sailing for Hal users but we sure would like to give this baby a chance.
