With anti virus programs available by dime a dozen, it’s confusing to select which would be best for your needs. However the McAfee VirusScan 2006 Version 10.0 is the solution to all possible Virus problems. It promises to protect your computer from all those dreaded viruses and PUPs ("Potentially Unwanted Programs"—McAfee's term for spyware). It is capable of downloading virus signatures daily and can scan files seamlessly on access but it could also break your PC.
The VS2006 has been certified by ICSA Labs and it also includes wizards, e-mail support, discussion forums, and live 24/7 chat (free) or phone (paid) support. It has a featured called Script Stopper which basically blocks scripts that manipulate files or the Registry. Another handy feature found on the VS2006 Worm Stopper which blocks suspicious e-mail activity, like too many messages in a short moment or e-mails sent to a lot of recipients. However the software doesn’t include Hijack Protection or behavior based blocking (phising sites) . But the VS2006 is a decent program and users would no doubt appreciate the friendly interface.
