Microsoft Office has just got a facelift and we will be able to see it next week. The office 2007 Beta according to Microsoft is "technical refresh" and will more enhanced features. Microsoft Office in the previous versions had been plagued by bugs and unstable behavior which have been rectified now.
The new version not only has taken care of the bugs but has an extremely user friendly interface and unlike the previous version doesn't have a cumbersome interface. The whole look has changed and now it looks like a cross between Office 2003's toolbars and Office 2007 Beta 1's ribbon interface. Right now very few have actually tested the new version but from all the initial reports, this version might just work.
Microsoft Office 2007 Beta Features Include:
- Updated command tabs relevant to the Office 2007 product in use (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access)
- Contextual command tabs that are displayed when objects of a particular type are edited
- Galleries for quick access to "pick and click" operations
- Live Preview, which lets users preview formatting changes and edits in the Gallery
