The ATI CrossFire right from its inception has created a lot of hype and today we’ll look at the MSI RD480 Neo2, one of the Radeon Xpress 200 CrossFire edition motherboards. A mid range product, the Neo 2 is MSI's first AMD-based motherboard to support CrossFire multi-GPU technology. It uses ULI M1573 Southbridge instead of the newer M1575 and doesn’t suffer from problems which were seen in SB450 and brings Azalia-class HD Audio. It has four standard SATA-150 connectors with RAID (0, 1 and 0+1) support and NCQ, and has two Ultra-ATA connectors courtesy of the ULi M1573 Southbridge.
The RD480 Neo2 has a decent layout and doesn’t believe in a frivolous design and comes with a range of voltage and frequency options. MSI's CoreCell technology is also onboard, for monitoring and diagnostics and MSI even threw in their D-Bracket 2 diagnostics bracket with two extra USB 2.0 ports.
Its features include:
