Elpida Memory, Inc. a leading name in Dynamic Random Access Memory unveiled its second-generation 1 Gigabit DDR2 SDRAMs and six other memory modules based on the new devices. Delivering better functionality and faster performance they are compatible with Elpida's full line-up of DDR2 devices and ideal for multimedia devices like TV, Set Top Box and Notebook PC Applications etc. The full line-up of memory modules includes Registered DIMMs, FB-DIMMs, UDIMMs and SO-DIMMs.
The 4-bit prefetch, pipelined architecture results in high speed data transfer and all the devices are available in 68-ball or 92-ball FBGA packaging for uncomplicated mounting on the DIMMs. The 1 Gigabit DDR2 SDRAM devices are separated or differentiated on the basis of data rate speeds like 800 Mega bits per second (Mbps), 667 Mbps, 533 Mbps or 400 Mbps. Further Organization is done by 32 M words x 4 bits x 8 banks, 16 M words x 8 bits x 8 banks, or as 8 M words x 16 bits x 8 banks. One can check out further details from the official website and the 1 Gigabit DDR2 SDRAMs would be available by Q2 2006 from Elpida Memory.
