
Averatec Inc. has just announced its plan to launch the 7100 Series a form factor notebook with a 17 inch wide screen. The 7100 Series by Averatec will be powered by the AMD Turion 64 mobile technology and includes a crystal clear vibrant 17-inch WXGA widescreen display with the exclusive AveraBrite(TM) technology. This technology improves the sharpness of the monitor and enhances multimedia activities like DVD watching, video clips and slideshows.
Users can buy the 7100 series either with Microsoft(R) Windows(R) XP Home, Professional or Media Center Edition and is Microsoft Windows Vista-capable too. No Linux option seen here. The excellent Gigabit wired network is 10 times faster than standard 100-Mbit Ethernet and the memory can be expanded to 2 GB. Some other features include; a built-in dual-layer DVD/CD burner and an integrated 5-in-1 media card reader, IEEE 1394 FireWire interface, three high-speed USB 2.0 ports, the crap Zone Alarm(R) Internet Security Suite 6.0, Phoenix First Ware Recover software and Recover Pro software.
