Linksys, a leading provider of wireless networking solutions has launched three new cutting edge products, the Wireless-N Gateway (WAG300N), Wireless-N Broadband Router (WRT300N) and Wireless-N Notebook Adapter (WPC300N). All these products are built according to the 802.11n Draft Specification and takes networking and other multimedia tasks to the very next level. Users will be able to enjoy flawless performance when it comes to activities like surfing the web, enjoying multiple streams of high definition video, accessing digital music collections and even making internet phone calls simultaneously."The emergence of high-definition video, along with the growing use of Voice over IP, online gaming, and other applications by consumers requires network bandwidth that greatly exceeds what is available from 802.11g," said Mike Wolf, principal analyst, ABI Research. "With these products based on the IEEE 802.11n draft specification, Linksys is enabling users to transform their home networks into media distribution platforms and access premium content around the home over a wireless network."
These new products deliver amazing speeds and functionality due to the MIMO (multiple inputs, multiple outputs) technology and use multiple spatial streams which allow each 20 MHz channel to enclose more than one stream of data. The 802.11n draft specification also provided a 40MHz channel for an absolute multimedia experience especially during tasks like high definition video, audio streaming, online gaming and Voice over IP. All the products are backward compatible with 802.11g and 802.11b
