Microsoft Vista is one product that very one is waiting for all the right reasons and wrong reasons. Its anyone’s guess when the Vista will see the light of day, however it continues to generate a lot of news. The latest round of tidbit we came across is that the Vista Firewall will support both incoming and outgoing traffic and thus Microsoft is limiting the firewall.
This has been done to appease the corporate customers and government departments according to some sources where Microsoft will turn off the ability to block outgoing traffic by default and set the new firewall to block incoming traffic only.
However some feel that this just a cover and the real reason behind this move is to cure piracy. In fact a website suggested that maybe in the future Microsoft plans to “release software or service packs that tries to phone home to check if they are genuine copies - Microsoft doesn't want to provide an easy tool to people (the Vista firewall) that could block such initiatives.”
I personally don’t know how the brains of Microsoft tick nor do I intend to find out!
