Arecont Vision has just unveiled the World's First Eight Megapixel 360 Degree Surround Video (R) IP Camera System with quad-sensor panoramic technology recently which is truly unique. This new video system can provide panoramic views and cinema compatible high frame rates for real time 360 degree video surveillance. This radical surveillance system is capable of delivering up to 8 megapixels resolution which when compared to other systems is 24 time’s higher than the standard.
Existing panoramic cameras, that 'spread' pixels from the single sensor over an entire semi-sphere, deliver significantly lower video resolution per unit viewing angle than is typical for conventional non-panoramic NTSC and PAL cameras. They have addressed this problem by utilizing four 2 Megapixel sensors in one camera, enabling 360 degree coverage without compromising the ability to resolve scene detail," said Steven Sarfati, VP of Sales at Arecont Vision.
The AV8360 includes the exclusive Surround Video(R) technology and uses four 2 Megapixel sensors for synchronized transmission of zoomed and full field of view video streams . It also features Power-over-Ethernet capability and is paired with 4 high-quality lenses enclosed in a 6" Dome. The camera system is now available for $995 including the four lenses.
