HP showcased its latest notebook recently which will be perfect for both home and office use and offers high end functionality without going overboard on the price issue. The notebook not only has a pretty overall solid and durable feel to it, but is also pretty lightweight. The nc2400 in fact weighs just 2.8 lbs (1.29kg) and is 24.8 mm thick. It operating system includes Windows XP and DOS and one can opt for any of the Intel Core Solo Processors ranging from U1300 to U1400 . The new notebook includes a 12.1-inch TFT WXGA LCD which will make for a better visual experience and enhanced multimedia activates tho its too small for me.The nc2400 can be configured according to ones need and one can opt for a DVD/CD-RW Combo or those new DVD+/-RW SuperMulti drives with Double Layer. The onboard 40 GB Hard Disk is expandable and so is the onboard 512 MB RAM. Some other configurations include; 2 USB 2.0, VGA, external mic, VGA, line out, IEEE 1394a, AC power connector, RJ-11, RJ-45, travel battery connector, docking connector, Broadcom 10/100/1000 NetLink Gigabit Ethernet PCI Controller with HP Smart Power NIC technology, ADI High Definition CODEC; integrated 16-bit Sound Blaster Pro compatible audio; speaker; amongst others. You have to shell out about USD $1500 for a standard configuration.
