Computer giants Lenovo are all set to release its line of Tian Yi F20, the XuRi 125 and C100 laptop models bundled up with Wireless routers Featuring Atheros Technology. This move has been welcomed by all the industry pundits as for the first a company is offering complete wirelessLAN (WLAN) starter kit. The onboard Lenovo router incorporates the Atheros'AR5006AP-G chipset which is extremely cost efficient and has been specifically designed for routers, access points and home gateways. Atheros' solutions are also integrated in other Lenovo laptops with built-in 802.11g or 802.11a/g capabilities. So what this means is that you now have a built-in router on your notebook.
"Atheros' wireless LAN technology provides superior wireless router performance at the lowest cost," said Todd Antes, vice president of marketing of Atheros. "We are excited to be featured in Lenovo's new SOHO bundle, which makes it easier for users to combine a high-performance 802.11g router and laptop for secure, easy wireless networking."
The new Atheros AR5006AP-G is a WLAN solution for 2.4 GHz access points and routers and also features 32-bit MIPS R4000-class processor, multiprotocol, media access controller (MAC), baseband, and radio functions .The chipset is also backwards compatible with IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g networks as well.
