
Sony has also thrown in a 200 GB hard drive (available in RAID 0 configuration) and an Nvidia GeForce Go 7600GT with 256MB graphics memory. Connectivity options also include Bluetooth, WLAN (a/b/g), HDMI input and did we mention the Blu-Ray Drive?
“The VAIO AR has the ability to capture, edit and record in HD on a notebook PC right out of the gate,” said Mike Abary, vice president of VAIO product marketing at Sony Electronics in the U.S. “Combined with unsurpassed storage capability our new Blu-ray Disc enabled notebook computer offers users with limitless creative possibilities.”
Some other features found on the notebook include integrated Sony MOTION EYE videocam and microphone, Microsoft® Windows® Media Center Edition, hybrid TV tuner,a built-in standard-definition NTSCTV tuner (select models) and onboard TV controls, and NVIDIA® GeForce® Go 7600 graphics card featuring 256MB dedicated video memory. The AR Premium Blu-ray Disc enabled model will go for about $3,500 and as always, I think thats a premium for notebooks.
