Technology is always growing by leaps and bounds and every day there some other development in the dynamic technological world. Now it’s the turn of companies like Broadcom and Atheros to celebrate as they have been able to make Wi-Fi chipsets which are able to deliver a whopping speed of 100Mbps.These new chipsets will be shown in the upcoming Computex trade show in Taipei this month – June 2006.
The IEEE 802.11n Working Group are going to release a draft version of the standard officially by next year however a number of companies have released products according to the new draft version. However since its still in the development stage, getting them work in conjunction has not really taken off. So this feat by the Broadcom and Atheros chipsets not only is quite an accomplishment but will also benefit other third party vendors. For instance Broadcom's Intensi-fi and Atheros' XSpan chipsets are compatible with vendors like D-Link, Netgear, Belkin and Cisco's Linksys unit.
