
Asus and GeCube has launched a new dual X1600XT card first unveiled at the COMPUTEX 2006 show. Thanks to the GeCube design, the card would be compatible in CrossFire mode and doesn’t use standard DVI connectors. In fact the company have incorporated a unique architecture as the card features two high-density connectors where one has to attach a dongle for two DVI ports per connector. When compared to ASUS cards, this one utilizes a smaller cooling design.
The new GeCube card would have juts one single slot when compared to the ASUS new dual Radeon X1600XT 'Gemini' video card. For the uninitiated, the ASUS card would include a pair of Radeon X1600XT GPUs, and 512MB of speedy 1.4ns memory, with 256MB assigned to each GPU. RAM would be clocked at 1.4GHz and both the GPU would be clocked at 590Mz. The ASUS card would feature four outputs, two DVI ports and a number of VGA ports.
