The new ES Barracuda when compared to older and previous models offers a 50% more capacity and it also powers RAID sub- systems. The onboard Rotational Vibration Feed Forward (RVFF) technology makes the drive more stable and reliable while delivering the best Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) rating possible. There is a Workload Management feature too which cools down the system when it starts heating up after long hours. The Barracuda ES is available in a 3Gb Serial ATA (SATA) version that includes Native Command Queuing (NCQ) and 8/16MB cache, in capacities of 250, 400, 500, and 750GB and in a 2Gb FC version in capacities of 400 and 500GB.
