Linksys has introduced a couple of new routers in the form of the 4-Port Gigabit Security Router with VPN (RVS4000) and the 4-Port SSL/IP Sec VPN Router (RVL200) from its Small Business Series line. Both these routers allow multiple PCs in the office to share an Internet connection while offering 1000Mbit/s of networking bandwidth on each of its ports with the ability to connect up to 5 IPSec remote users over the Internet securely. Increasing broadband speeds are rendering current 10/100 routers obsolete by the minute as they lack the power to support higher data rates, ending up as bottlenecks in a network instead. These new offerings feature Quality of Service that keeps voice and video quality throughout the network stable. Both the RVS4000 and RVL200 are immediately available via major distributors; value added resellers, direct response and e-commerce retailers. They retail for $129 and $199 respectively.
