The New Jersey based manufacturer have just announced two new 32-inch and 37-inch LCD with this technology which puts out 120 Hz refresh rate used by the displays, double the typical 60 Hz seen in LCD panels, and substantially quicker than the 75 Hz offered by many higher-quality displays. What this does it is it makes images smoother, with less blur and ghosting than regular LCD TVs. To make up the difference in frame rate, an interpolated image is inserted between two images so there's a smoother transition between frames.
The displays will also come with an ATSC/QAM/NTSC tuner, two HDMI inputs, two component inputs, two S-video inputs, 15-pin S-sub PC input, MPEG noise reduction and both analog and optical and analog audio output. The larger, 37" LCD (LT-37X987) will cost $2,700 in August, and the smaller 32" LCD (LT-32X987) will cost $2,000 in October.
While this is a move in the right direction, the question would be how long would JVC be able to hold this competitive advantage before everyone else incorporates it also?
