The K-NFB reader device hopes to change all that as it is actually comprised of a digital camera and a PDA. The PDA uses a Braille-aware software that is able to read out the text in a clear, synthetic speech a few seconds after the camera snaps a photo of the printed material. This nifty device is able to read simple documents such as legible letters, bills, receipts, menus, and even tickets. You can also store certain images for future reference in the on-board memory. If you want a little privacy, just plug in the headphones so that no one can read the multi-million dollar contract that you've just closed.
