Lenovo, the unassuming company who gobbled up IBM in a corporate move, has unveiled its 12" subnotebook, the Lenovo 3000 V100. Most people would think that the ThinkPad brand carries a much higher performance level when compared to the plain Jane Lenovo line. The V100 throws that notion out of the window with its performance benchmarks, offering a performance from the subnotebook category that is worthy of a desktop counterpart. And to think it even comes at a much cheaper price when compared to the business-oriented ThinkPad X60. The V100 is future proof as it has the ability to handle the upcoming Windows Vista operating system, boasting and Intel Core Duo T2500 processor, a maximum of 2GB of DDR2 RAM, and Intel's very own Extreme Graphics Media Accelerator 950 chipset. The V100 starts from $1,099 upwards, depending on the level of customization that you put into it. The only drawbacks are the poorly designed housing, a keyboard that will require more love than usual to get used to it, and extremely stiff mouse buttons.
