Say goodbye to hard drive delays that you have experienced throughout the years when using Windows. Samsung has successfully developed a 4GB Solid State Disk Caching solution that aims to eliminate hard drive delays when the new Windows Vista operating system is finally released next year. It will take advantage of the Windows ReadyBoost feature that is found in Vista to improve system responsiveness. A traditional hard drive is limited to handling 100 to 200 requests per second, whereas the new Samsung SSD solution is able to chomp through 5,000 requests per second, virtually pushing data seek delays into extinction. Its use is not limited to Windows Vista-powered PCs only, as it can be used in other devices that house a hybrid hard drive to act as a secondary source of cached data. You can place the new SSD anywhere on the motherboard and connect it via the ATA port. Its release date is currently unavailable, but it should come out around the same time as Vista's long delayed debut.
