The UMPC (Ultra Mobile Personal Computer) concept is one which is really ahead of it's time. Low battery life coupled with a large form factor has so far lead consumers and reviewers everywhere to ask... Why not just get a small laptop? And the answer to this question has so far been met with a deafening silence.This new UMPC device however, called the C1 that has some pretty interesting specs, particularly it's choice of operating system. It's not a Tablet with Touch Pack -- just XP
The C1 does offer some compelling aspects such as:
· Native resolution of 800 x 600
· 80 GB hard drive
· 1 GB DDR RAM
· An AGP graphics interface
· 1 GHz Via Eden CPU
· 10 Hotkey buttons
· A PCMCIA Type II Slot (With an option for 3G connectivity)
· 3 hour battery life
· 8.4-inch touchscreen
This UMPC is actually extremely powerful for it's size but with no QWERTY keyboard and a price tag of USD$1900... Why not just get a small laptop?
