The variance in sound quality is not dependent on the phone but leans more toward Skype instead. Installation of the SkyTone USB Phone is painless - all you need to do is to load the driver, plug the phone into any available USB port, and you're good to go. The display will show your Skype contact list, and making a SkypeOut call is as simple as dialing your regular phone. Of course there is always the issue of having one hand handicapped when using the RST102 during a conversation, which could be a cause for concern with those who prefer using headsets.
