Intel has recently captured the market's imagination by offering the "best processors in the world", and you can be assured that its arch-rival AMD will not take such claims sitting down without a salvo of their own. AMD is currrently working on a new notebook platform which will be released before the year is over. The new platform has been codenamed Yokohama, and it will be based on the current Turion 64 X2 processor and RS690, RS690DC, and RS790M chipsets which are currently in the works. This is meant to be a reply to Intel's integrated wireless chipset solution for notebooks, something which AMD sorely lacks at the moment. Hopefully the new Yokohama platform might be able to change things and introduces some competition in the wireless notebook arena which will ultimately benefit users in the end.
