SanDisk engineers have managed to develop a couple of new flash memory
products that are bound to keep professional photographers and those working with huge storage files happy with the new line of Extreme III CompactFlash and Ultra II SDHC cards. The Extreme III CF Cards comes in 12GB and 16GB capacities which are capable of minimum read and write speeds of 20MB/s. As for the Ultra II SDHC cards, they are capable of reaching speeds of 9MB/s and 10MB/s which thoroughly trounces the rest of the competition in the market. All three cards come with a 10 year warranty (who knows whether the CF and SD standard will be able to last that long?). The 12GB and 16GB Extreme III CF cards wil be available this December for 475 and 633 Euros respectively, while the 4GB Ultra II SDHC card is much more affordable at 123 Euros.
