Thompson has entered the Skype fray by introducing the GE 2830 DECT phone. This Skype-certified device ships with a base station that is connected to a PC and runs on standard Skype software. This means you can now hold your regular Skype conversations without being tied down to a single spot as the GE 2830 is a wireless handset. Features include an address book which can hold up to a hundred names, a standby time of 120 hours, and a talktime of 10 hours. You can also hold call conferencing with the GE 2830 with up to 4 other people simultaneously, while the intercom function and voice encryption ensures your conversations remain private. Since this is a DECT product, there is no worry of it interfering with any wireless networks around you. Do take note that a wireless Skype phone tends to have short battery lives if you do not keep it docked to charge when not in use.
