The PC camera processor VC0326 by Vimicro is the first to receive Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL) certification for Windows Vista by Microsoft.
WHQL certification is expected to lower support costs and increase customer satisfaction.
By receiving WHQL certification, it confirms that Vimicro's product is compatible with Windows Vista and differentiates Vimicro's processors from other products on the market.
The system compatibility test have become more complex due to the fact that the next generation PC cameras are required to be compatible with standard driver within Windows Vista OS.
With the massive promotion by Microsoft for products bearing the Windows Vista logo, Vimicro would be able to reap the benefits of being recognised as the brand name they can relate to Windows Vista in future.
