I think most of us will believe when I say Hard disks are a lot better and useful than our old brief cases. Imagine all the file youc an carry around in just a small
neat package? You can never forget or misplace a report with this things. And more using a good reliable hard drive makes it so easy to manage and file all your things. It seems just yesterday when Seagate came up with a 400GB external hard drive from which earned a lot of recommendations from different magazines and forum communities around the world. And how time passes by so fast, we are now about to welcome the succesor of the 400GB external hard disk, the 500GB external hard disk also from Seagate. The question is, will it live to the standards set forth by its the former champion?
For starters, the 500GB external hard disk uses an eSATA interface, which should offer lightning fast performance. So we should be expecting a lot more speed from this one. For reviews, eSATA basically allows an external storage device to operate at speeds rivalling your internal hard disk. it basically allows an external storage device to operate at speeds rivalling your internal hard disk. Usually tranfering files to your USB takes a lot of time, let say you can put your mascara on while waiting. But this is the problem that the 500GB claimed to have solved. Using the eSATA, it hooks up your external drive to the type of interface as your internal, one making it super fast it will be finish even before you can powder your nose. As a matter of fact, the eSATA population is increasing by the hour. So its safe ot say that eSATA is the future's common USB port.
But it turns out that Seagate left no stone un-turned. They know well that not all has the capacity to use the eSATA, so they also came up with a solution to that. This is by bundling a Promise eSATA controller PCI card. Use of the PCI card rather than the PCI Express card will catch more audience or so they say.
According to the reviews, installing the PCI control card is as easy as ABC, making it as user friendly as possible. So far Ihave yet to hear a bad comment about the new 500GB external hard drive. At £167.51 to £196.82, I think its a fair price to pay for all the upgrade that we will be getting. So I guess it will live up to be a success as well.
