In the sound board market, ASUS has come in to challenge Creative with its latest
product Xonar DX2X and Xonar D2. It requires one PCIe connector to run delivering 118 dB sound to noise ratio during playback and 115 dB sound to noise ratio when recording. At a time when we think that sound card business is dead, there is always a surprise or two up the manufacturer’s sleeve. Creative has been the market leader for a long time in this segment. ASUS is trying to pry away some of Creative’s grip in this segment. It’s latest sound card also features Dolby Live, DTS Connect and DTS 5.1 standards certification. This card has the ability to “rip” music into other formats which sets it apart from the pack. The availability of this card is projected in the near future however the pricing is yet to be announced.
