Sapphire announced their latest motherboard today. ItsAMD 690G based
motherboard, the PURE Innovation HDMI PI-AM2RS690MHD. It si design for AMD socket AM2 and comes with 4 memory slots supporting DDR2-800/667/533 with a maximum capacity of 8GB. This is quite a twist as AMD previously has decided not to embrace DDR2 technology with Intel the only company that offers chipsets supporting DDR2. This card is packed with lots of mouth watering features that is expected for a high end card. It takes full advantage of AMD 690G video capabilities including DVI-D, HDMI, TV and VGA outputs. The HDMI output supports HDCP and output resolutions of up to 1080p. It comes with a built in ATI Radeon X1250 but user can opt to install a new graphic card if he finds it insufficient. The only downside is it only provides one PCIe slot which makes Crossfire not an option for buyer of this card.
