Verbatim announces a portable 12GB USB2 HD drive. The drive come preloaded with Mobile Launchpad software that allows users to download applications for running directly from the USB HD disc. Personally I would rather think why would someone want to buy this product when you can easily get a larger external hard drive. Even pendrives today are nearing 12 GB capacity with the largest one I have seen is at 8GB. No pricing for this product or any additional information from Verbatim. For those new to computers they might as well get these to save them lots of trouble. The market segment will most probably be those who are unfamiliar with computer peripherals and those who are just into the computer segment. It might also be selling its brand name to those who are loyal to Verbatim. But anyway external storage has been a hit with notebook harddisk drive easily available at bigger capacities and external 2.5” case coming in from as low as $5.
