
Linksys, which represents a Division of Cisco, has announced recently its new line of networking products called - Ultra RangePlus. The main products from this line are the Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router (or WRT600N) and the Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N Notebook Adapter (or WPC600N).
The WRT600N router is able to transmit simultaneously in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless spectrums. Its users can connect their wireless networking devices, such as PCs, VOIP products, printers to the router in the 2.4GHz mode, while it supports connection for 5GHz compatible devices.
Also the Ultra RangePlus Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router features four Gigabit Ethernet ports, built-in FTP and UPnP A/V servers. In addition it offers Storage Link support, which means USB drives can become networked attached storage by simply plugging into the WRT600N.
Linksys Easy Link Advisor is a setup software included in the package. It will help you install and manage the network, or will add the previously installed wireless devices to the newly Ultra RangePlus.
The PC card (WPC600N) uses the same Broadcom Intensi-Fi chipset as the WRT600N router. It retails for $99.99 while the router has an estimated street price of $279.99. Additional Ultra RangePlus products, like USB and ExpressCard adapters will be available in the first quarter of 2008.
