Buffalo has unveiled two new video network players, with the LT-H90LAN, and LT-H90WN. The former supports only LAN, while the latter supports LAN and Wi-FI networks (11a/11g/11b standards).
The two devices are able to stream music (AAC, MPEG Audio, WMA, WM DRM 10 and MP3), pictures (JPEG, PNG, BMP, GIF) and also video (Mpeg-2, H.264 and WMV9), in full HD resolution (1920x1080). On the other hand, the video network players don't support DivX files and the devices are DTCP-IP (Digital Transmission Content Protection over Internet Protocol) compatible, which means they can transfer copyrighted content over IP between two compliant DTCP-IP products. However they don't allow contents to be transmitted over the Internet or shared outside the network.
As I see it, this video network player can be used for sharing information inside a company. For example they could stream educational videos, or information regarding the production. Also the network players are best for offline announcements, for the publishing industry, entertainment and information content for distribution for the business, consumer solutions etc.
The devices have just been launched in Japan and retail for $190 LT-H90LAN model and $335 LT-H90WN model.
