Have you ever thought about monitoring your home office or any other place important for you? Linksys brought a great wireless monitoring device at CES 2008. Unlike the regular web cameras, this one has its own server and don't need to be plugged in a PC.
The Linksys Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera WVC54GC features wireless-G (802.11g) networking and 10/100 Ethernet. It has some great advantages such as high-quality live video and audio streaming over the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world, built-in video stream encoder and microphone. The Security Mode automatically sends email alerts with video clips upon motion detection in camera's field of view. The camera offers high-quality, high-framerate, up to 640x480 video stream using either a MPEG-4 or Motion JPEG video compression.
The Linksys Wireless-G Internet Home Monitoring Camera permits users to remotely log on to the stream and set the video to record to a local hard drive or on a predetermined schedule. The camera is available now for $119.99 in retail stores. It does enough for that price and it would be a great addition for your home or small office.
