Zoho is a suite of online applications that includes Writer, Projects, Sheet, CRM, Show, Creator, Wiki, Planner, Suite, Notebook, Chat, Meeting and Mail. Its competitors are Google Docs & Spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
The web-based Office company has reached 650,000 users with an increase of 30% from November. That happened because people found out that working online is easier and more convenient. First of all, the productivity grows, as workers can access documents online from anywhere. Secondly, I think it is more secure than your personal computer.![]()
Zoho began its activity in 2005 and since then its users have created more than one million documents on Zoho Writer and over 1.6 million including its online presentation and spreadsheet products, Zoho Show and Zoho Sheets.
Even, it remains more behind Microsoft's Word, Zoho continue to improve its online Office Suite. Today Zoho launched a few updates for Zoho Writer:
Docx Support—to export documents to DocX, the new Microsoft OOXML file format for Word as an addition to existing support for doc, txt, html, pdf, odf, sxw, rtf files.
Thesaurus—a thesaurus in ten languages: English, Czech, German, Greek, French, Irish, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Slovak.
Share with Groups—an option that lets you share documents without introducing multiple emails.
Enhanced support for Endnotes/Footnotes, Headers/Footers—for enhanced functionaly and formatting.
I have used Zoho's services and I must say I really enjoyed them. Zoho will grow as they will develop new applications and will provide superior performance.
