Some sources claim Nvidia is going to release the GeForce 9800 GTX the next month. The graphics card will be based on the same G92 graphics processor as recent GeForce 8800-series models and it will have a higher core clock speed.
The rumors said the card will work at 675MHz with a 1688MHz shader clock and 512MB of GDDR3 memory running at 1100MHz. The card will use the same cooler as its predecessor 8800 GTS 512MB. The cooler is OEM by CoolerMaster.
Acording to Tech Report, the 9800 GTX will have three-way SLI support like GeForce 8800 GTX and 8800 Ultra models, but those cards are based on the older 90nm G80 GPU. However, users were not too pleased with these news. The argue that 9800 GTX doesn't bring too many improvements in comparison with the 8800 GTS 512MB. Perhaps they should come with something better to catch public's attention.
