Google has just launched Google Sites, an application based on JotSpot's technology. The new application is perfect for sharing online information. With Google Sites individuals can work collaboratively. That would increase productivity for online projects, but also companies could use the web application to fulfill the organization's tasks.
What I like most about Google Sites, is that users don't need to know HTML or other coding language. Google offers easy editing templates where users could integrate the other services such as Google Docs, Google Calendar, YouTube and Picasa. To work with it you had to sign up for a Google account, which gives you 10GB storage for Google Sites and access to the other services.
The project created in Google Sites could remain a private one, as the user has the option to designate owners, viewers and collaborators. On the other hand the website can be viewed by the entire company or by the entire Internet.
Google Sites is an excellent collaboration tool for workgroups. It actually works like a wiki, but with more productivity features.
