Today Microsoft has announced the code for the first service pack for Windows Vista is ready. The bad news is that the code won't be released for customers until mid-March. This happens because some devices may not work properly with the initial version of the OS due to driver issues.
The SP1 will be available in the following languages: English, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese. The customers will download it from the download center on microsoft.com. If the Windows Update determines that the system has one of the drivers with problems, then Windows Update will not offer SP1. The issue will be fixed in April when the vendors will release new updates for the drivers with problems. As the updates become available, the Windows Updates will install them automatically and more it will allow SP1 to be downloaded.
Vista users welcomed the new SP, but some were disappointed by the delay. However many believe that SP1 will increase the number of Vista users.
