The ATI FireGL V7700 is the newest workstation graphics accelerator from AMD. It features a DisplayPort output for superior 10-bit image quality and a Dual Link DVI output, together generating a multi-monitor desktop of over 5000 pixels wide. It also offers a 512 MB on-board frame buffer memory.
Based on a new generation GPU with 320 unified shader units, the ATI FireGL V7700 ultra parallel processing architecture helps maximize throughput by automatically directing graphics horsepower where it’s needed or so AMD announces on their website. Also ATI FireGL V7700 benefits from hardware acceleration of DirectX 10.1 and OpenGL 2.1 advanced features.
The V7700 is scheduled to start shipping worldwide next month, but it won't be cheap. AMD quotes a suggested price of $1,099.
