The new 22-inch LCD model, Hanns-G HG216D, with it’s relative low price of $259.99, offers an affordable way of moving up to a 1,680-by-1,050 widescreen display with HDMI connectivity.
It has HDMI (digital) and VGA (analog) inputs, as well as an audio-in jack and it comes with VGA and audio cables. The panel’s mounting arm offers a 25-degree tilt range: 5 degrees forward and 20 backward.
Even if the color quality is decent, it has problems reproducing shades of light grey. Dark grays are more well-defined, but the very darkest shades appear black. As a result it is not the best alternative if you are working with photos, but the HG216D does a good job of displaying text, as you would be able to read Arial fonts as small as 5.3 points without any trouble.
