What's the Dropbox? First of all it is a new startup based on idea of storing and synchronizing files online. Its founders have developed a Python-based desktop client that acts like a regular folder on your computer. It also can backup and store your files online.
The Dropbox beta version offers 5GB online storage, but it could increase soon. It works so easily. The user put some files in the Dropbox folder. When he accesses its Dropbox account from other computer over the Internet, the online files will appear on that computer, of course if the desktop client had been installed previously. An interesting feature of Dropbox is keeping record of files versions. For example if a file is modified or lost, the Dropbox can revert to an earlier version of a document.
In my opinion, Dropbox is the perfect tool for any traveler or for project groups. Imagine how easy can coworkers collaborate over a project. Another great advantage Dropbox offers, is sharing files online. The user can enter the email addresses of whom he wants to share the folder with and they get it right away. I strongly believe in this startup and I think it has created quite a buzz.
