Super Talent is a company based in San Jose, California which designs and manufactures a wide range of memory modules and also Flash based storage devices for computers and consumer electronics. The company has recently presented its new 256GB SDD hard drive - FSD56GC25H. The drive measures only 12.5 mm and was awarded as the "World Thinnest 250GB SSD".
The new Super Talent hard drive is 40% thinner than any other 256GB SSD available, thanks to the patented stacking technology that allows storing large amounts of SSD memory into a tiny case. The 2.5" SATA drive comes in capacities from 8GB to 256GB and supports 0.1ms access times, a maximum of 65MBps sequential read speed and 50MBps sequential write speed.
"We designed this drive for applications that need rugged and reliable storage in a very compact form factor. This is the world's smallest and thinnest 256GB SSD", said Super Talent Marketing Director, Joe James.
The drive will be available soon but sells directly to OEMs. Its price would be settled on request. Obviously, this thin drive encourages the development of small and thin gadgets like UMPCs or MIDs. Technology never stops!
