AT&T announced a great deal for its LaptopConnect customers - free wireless Internet. The service subscribers can access over 17,000 hot-spots free of charge. They have Wi-Fi access in over 7,000 Starbucks partner stores and also in restaurants, airports, hotels and other convenient locations across the United States.
"The combination of the nation's largest wireless and Wi-Fi networks is unbeatable," said Michael Woodward, vice president, Business Mobility Products for AT&T's wireless unit. "It's the ultimate in mobility for laptops - AT&T's wireless network plus more than 17,000 Wi-Fi locations."
To access the service, the clients need to download the latest AT&T Communication Manager, which comes with new LaptopConnect cards and is available for free at http://www.att.com/laptopconnect. The offer is available for customers that subscribed for data plans over $59.99. No need to worry if you don't find a hot-spot because AT&T LaptopConnect cards operate on AT&T's wireless network, which provides DSL-like speeds on the company's 3G.
