The news came from a Chinese website, which claims Intel prepares to launch new processors for the third quarter. The information wasn't approved nor denied by Intel, but the company told they prepare new "Intel Core 2 processor offerings".
The first in the line is the Q9650 Core 2 Quad processor which has a clock speed of 3GHz, a 1333MHz front-side bus (FSB), and 12MB of cache memory. It delivers almost the same performance like his "extreme" brother QX9650, but will cost less more $530 instead of $999.
The other Core 2 Duo processor called E8600 will have a clock speed of 3.33GHz, a 1333MHz FSB, and 6MB of cache memory. Its price would be $266 same as the E8500 model, which runs at 3.16GHz.
Another cool information that should be shared here is about the future price cuts: the quad-core Q9550 (2.83GHz) will cost $316 from $530, the widely-used Q6600 (2.4GHz) will fall from $224 to $203 and the Core 2 Duo E8500's price will be cut from $266 to $183.
