A Korean manufacture called Mtron has announced the new PRO 7500 series drives which aim to be the fastest in the world. These SSD can reach reading speeds up to 130MBps as well as 120MBps when writing.
Mtron’s new PRO 7500 series supports SATA II interface and are targeted for enterprise use. The company announced the drives are environmental-friendly because they consume 60% less energy than HDD. Also PRO 7500 SSD deliver up to 20% increased performance over the regular SATA I SSD. One important feature to be mentioned is the "Random Read IOPS (Data input/output speed) of 19,000, a speed that is 65 times faster than current industrial purpose SAS HDD, in order to deliver much-improved performance in the situations with heavy volume transactions".
The Pro 7500 series will be available in June with capacities in the range 32GB -129GB, and 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch sizes. The prices could be higher considering the enterprise target.
