AMD prepares a new GPU to launch. As you might seen in the title, it's called XGP (eXternal Graphics Platform) and it is an external graphic solution.
ATI XGP is designed to deliver the best graphics performance for notebooks users. It features and multiple connectivity options, and support for ATI CrossFireX technology multi-GPU capabilities. The XGP revolutionizes GPU performance on a notebook PC equipped with an external PCI Express 2.0 connector.

AMD created the External PCI Express 2.0 Connector in joint-venture with JAE Electronics, Inc, a leading manufacturer in providing solutions for complex design requirements. The connector, which has an unique design which allows to connect to your notebook PC, providing 4 GBytes/s bandwidth to support the most demanding graphics applications.
What I mostly admire at this external graphics solution is the multiple display support. That means the ATI XGP offers connection with up to 4 displays using only a single ATI Radeon graphics processor and a notebook PC. It can connect to TV tuners, Blu-Ray drives and a variety of devices including HDMI with integrated audio and DVI.
