Asus has announced the Xonar HDAV1.3 sound card which boasts HDMI 1.3a compatibility and a "Splendid HD" video processor. The company says the chip is able to enhance colors and edges for high-definition video, reduces flicker, and even "recovers clarity" with low-resolution content.
With both PAPS and AACS content protection schemes, the Xonar HDAV1.3 sound card outputs uncompressed Blu-ray audio. It supports Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio as well. The sound card features 7.1-channel support, and offers 24-bit/192kHz LPCM audio through its HDMI port.
Like its predecessor, the card uses the same AV200 audio which means it benefits from Asus' DS3D GX 2.0 EAX emulation scheme, the Burr Brown DACs, Cirrus Logic ADC, and the National Semiconductor OPAMPs.
The price wasn't announced, but the sound card should be available in July.
