The Beta 2 version of the upcoming browser Internet Explorer 8, comes with features designed to detect the malicious scripts contained in downloads. That means increased protection when using the email or other services which can lead to security threats.
Like its competitors, Firefox 3 and Opera 9.5, IE8 will offer antimalware protection. The feature called Microsoft SmartScreen filter will block emerging threats by masking the entire IE 8 browser screen with a warning to users.
The public Beta 2 for Internet Explorer will be available sometime in August 2008. The bad news is that most of the new features require PCs to run Windows Vista SP1 or Windows XP SP3. So, there is no support for Windows XP SP2.
